For today’s health care provider, learning must go beyond factual knowledge to encourage competencies such as team approaches, patient-centered care, and enhanced proficiency in clinical care as demonstrated by patient outcomes. With the burgeoning biomedical and clinical knowledge in medicine, health care providers face potential cognitive overload. Interventions are needed that help clinicians assess, assimilate, recall, and apply new information.
